Ikke noe ansikt denne gangen, men frokosten blir litt bedre av å spise på fatet fra Egersund og koppen merket "Jarolina - made in Poland". Koppen ble funnet på bruktbutikken Askeladden i Mo i Rana, en av mine favorittskattejaktbutikker. I fjor fant jeg en Fjällräven dunjakke der til ti(!) kroner, en jakke som koster mange tusen i butikken. Hurra!

No face this time, but breakfast always tastes better with this plate from norwegian Egersund and the mug labelled "Jarolina - made in Poland". I found the mug at a thrift shop in Mo i Rana, my favourite treasurehuntshops of all times. Last year I found a Fjällräven down jacket for 10 kr (not even 2 $). Yay!

Bobo Choses makes really beautiful childrens clothes! This picture is from Bonjour Camille, their new spring-summer collection. Melvin has an apple sweater from their winter collection, and I think he loves it just as much as I do. I wish they made their clothes in mummy size as well :)

Dette er siste innlegg om akkurat disse sikleskjerfene, jeg lover!



Når man søker om kunstnerstipend må man stille ut et eksempel på hva man driver med som kunstner. Jeg tenkte lenge at sikleskjerfene var for enkle til å bli stilt ut, og at jeg burde vise fram noe med mer kunstnerisk tyngde. Men nå er det nå engang sånn at det er sikleskjerf jeg lager akkurat nå. Fint å få det fram i lyset.

I have applied to an artistic scholarship (arts&crafts), and a part of the application is to exhibit part of my art. I thought for a while that my scarf bibs were not worthy of such an exhibition, but I changed my mind.

Jeg tegnet et ansikt på Melvins storetå. Etterpå ble han inspirert til å tegne både det ene og det andre under føttene sine. Det ble fine fotspor på stuegolvet.

I drew a face on Melvin's big toe, and that inspired him to draw a lot of other things under his feet. And then he made some nice footprints on the floor.

Ikke så langt fra der vi bor ligger kunstnerboligene, Trolltun. De ligger rett ved inngangen til Østmarka.

These houses are situated not far from where we live. It is an artists colony called Trolltun.

For å få kjøpe en av atelierleilighetene må man være medlem av en kunstnerorganisasjon, og kunne vise til "betydelig aktivitet innen sitt fagfelt".

To buy an apartment here, you have to be a member of an artists organization. 

Til og med trærne ser ut til å være lykkelige der. En dag skal jeg flytte dit.

FREE Iphone Apps For Camping

I recently purchased an Iphone and it has been a love affair since. From listening to Pandora for music on the fly, a calculator or most often used as a camera not to forget a baby sitter too. I LOVE MY iPhone!!!!

Here are a few apps I've tried and what I think about them. I will update as I can.

FREE APP:  Coleman’s Cookout Cookbook and Meal Planner 

I surprised myself by liking this one. The choices of meals are good to great and the app allows you to plan with shopping list and directions for cooking right at the campsite. Check it out for sure.

FREE APP:  Bug Spray - Ultrasonic By Apptomic LLC

OK the ratings are not high on this one. But just to be curios I'm trying it this Spring. It claims to have a high frequency tone that has an effect of repelling insects. RIGHT?

Be Careful! My 8 year-old daughter cried when we made this app active. Some children can hear this and it really hurts. This may, very well, be an effective bug deflector, but please be careful if you have young children.

I am looking forward to using my iPhone on my next camping trip. I know I will use the Pandora which will be different for me as I have always been the NO MUSIC box on the campsite kind of a girl. But with every song at my finger tips and the ability to tun it way down I can see enjoying some Cuban jazz while cooking oh yeah!. I will try the Bug Spray app but feel skeptical already. The flash light is a definite. The cooking app I'm going to give it a try for a small trip.

Fram til nyåret hadde Astrup Fearnley en utstilling av Ernesto Neto. Vi var der tre ganger, og hver gang var det det rosa ballrommet som var det viktigste målet. Det hadde vært fint om utstillingen ble permanent, det synes i allefall Melvin. Hurra for utstillinger der man kan leke med det som stilles ut!

The Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art hosted an exhibition with Ernesto Neto. All three times we were there, the room with the pink balls was the main goal, at least for Melvin. We want more exhibitions like this!
