The owl clock is taking a break on the top of the entrance to our living room. I bought it a few years ago from Decoylab.

Another Power Outage Camping
Day two another power outage. This time is going to be different. It appears that my husband has been slow to inform me on just how much we can plug into our generator. Today I will go for the internet and the sewing machine. Its Vegas baby.
Our neighbor says it's been 30 years since it's snowed this much. The town mostly closed down yesterday.
With a food plan and my new knowledge about the generator, I may have to say " I am Camping In Style "

Power Outage Is NOT Camping In Style
Twice this winter we have had several days without power. Over Thanks Giving we went the entire week with the power being restored the day after all of our big plans.
Trying to Camp In Style with "generator toast"
Three days into it I'm thinking "Ruth your one girl who loves camping" making the best of it. While watching my friends without power come unglued I remained inspired to Camp In Style. But on that fourth day ................................. I more than came unglued. I won't bore you with all the details of managing a house in the snow you can't drive to, with no power, no phone, one small propane fireplace that keeps a tiny area of the house at 53 tops, with a 5 yr old, a husband out of town and a small generator located around back and down a slope to use for one item at a time.
Our generator
I lost my cool, cried, freaked out and then was totally disappointed in myself for being a bad girl scout.
PG&E vehicle to get to remote downed poles
Then I reasoned it like this.
- Camping is planned, meals and intentions
- Camping you prepare for the weather and whatever discomforts you may endure
- Camping is with other people usually
- Camping is in the Summer when the sun goes down later in the day
- Camping is Camping and loosing your power is (&$@!$%^**&%^%$

sommerhus
Flere bilder her.

This it how it (sometimes) looks in my home"town" in summer. Picture 2 is from the small island Sleneset, where we have our summer house. More pictures here.

martha&margit

"Martha and Margit are two little old ladies that are fed up with the masculine estethics that rule the cities. So they have decided to make some embellishments."
This is one of my favourite projects from my time at Khib. Together with my good friend Jeanett, I snook around in the streets of Bergen during night, and placed out porcelaine objects. They were gone in a few days.

I made this wool fabric as a student at Bergen National Academy of the Arts. Each of my friends made a drawing that I used for the pattern. I wish I made more of it.

---
If we have a rainy day when I visit my parents in Mo i Rana during summer, we sometimes drive across the border to Sweden, heading for Hemavan and Tärnaby. A few meters across the Swedish side of the border, we always pass by this bus, called "Matbussen", or "Kjøttbussen" (Food bus / meat bus). This is actually a small shop that sells frozen meat, cigarettes and coca cola cans, slightly cheaper than in Norway.
---
And suddenly on day, the meat bus got some competition.
